Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies loaded with gooey chocolate chunks. Quick, easy, and irresistible for satisfying sweet cravings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (2 sticks/226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup (165g) packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 cup (120g) chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Ingredients Start by allowing your butter and eggs to reach room temperature. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Measure all ingredients before starting.
  2. Step 2: Cream Butter and Sugars In a large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  3. Step 3: Add Eggs and Vanilla Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides and mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Step 4: Combine Dry Ingredients Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl for even distribution.
  5. Step 5: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Step 6: Add Chocolate and Optional Nuts Fold in chocolate chips and nuts with a spatula until evenly distributed. Reserve some chocolate pieces for topping.
  7. Step 7: Portion and Bake Use a cookie scoop to portion dough onto baking sheets. Bake for 9-11 minutes until edges are golden. Cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
