Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion diced
- 2 green bell peppers diced
- 8 mushrooms diced
- 4 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- Step 1- Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain fat and then add the beef broth and worcestershire sauce to the cooked beef. Cook over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes or until most of the liquid is absorbed. Add some salt and pepper if desired. Remove the meat from the skillet and set aside.
- Step 2– Add the olive oil to the skillet and heat for a minute over medium heat before adding the veggies. Cook them for about 5-6 minutes or until they are softened. Add the meat back in and mix everything together.
- Step 3– Serving suggestions for Philly cheesesteak bowls: You can either divide the hot meat mixture into 4 servings and place a slice of cheese on each bowl to melt. Or leave everything in the skillet and place the sliced provolone evenly over the meat so it melts faster, then divide into portions. For a carb option, spoon the mixture onto a toasted, buttered bun or hoagie roll.
